A home in Fond du Lac caught fire Thursday evening (March 5th).
FOX11 reports that Fond du Lac Fire Rescue was called to the 160 block of East 1st Street just after 5:30 p.m. on a report of smoke coming from a home.
Crews arrived to find heavy smoke and fire conditions on the first floor, and an individual who had escaped the home.
They were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene while crews quickly extinguished the blaze.
There were no other injuries reported, but the home did suffer extensive damage.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and the damage cost estimate was not made available.
