A former Iowa County daycare provider is asking to have her sentence reduced in connection to the death of a young child in 2022.
Joanna Ford was in court this week to request that she be made eligible for the Earned Release Program.
A decision on her request is expected next month.
Ford was found guilty on multiple counts of child neglect in the death of four-month-old Wyatt Hamlin.
The 33-year-old left her Mineral Point home, where she cared for children, to go to a piercing appointment.
Wyatt ended up with a traumatic brain injury in her absence and died days later.
Ford was sentenced to 11 years in prison, plus 12 years of extended supervision.
