A man facing numerous charges after crashing his vehicle into a local business is due in court.
Legal records show that 30-year-old Ty J. Meyer is set to appear in Manitowoc County court for his preliminary hearing tomorrow morning (March 5th) as he faces charges of Felony Possession of THC and OWI with a Child Under 16 in the Vehicle.
In December, Manitowoc Police were called to the former Shopko parking lot after they received a report that a vehicle had collided with the American Family Insurance building.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with Meyer, the driver, who appeared to be under the influence of drugs.
When speaking with authorities, the 30-year-old admitted to consuming cough medicine prior to getting behind the wheel.
It was later revealed that Meyer’s four-month-old child was in the vehicle when he drove it into the American Family Insurance building while under the influence.
In the time since his arrest, Meyer was apprehended once again and subsequently charged with Battery and Disorderly Conduct with domestic violence enhancers, along with Felony Bail Jumping for breaking the terms of his original $5,000 recognizance bond.
Despite breaking this bond during a domestic violence incident in February, Meyer was once again released from custody, but this time on a $1,500 recognizance bond.
Meyer will return to court for his domestic violence charges on March 19th for a preliminary hearing in Branch 3.
