
Just as it has throughout the Country, the U.S. conflict in Iran has caused gas prices in Eastern Wisconsin to skyrocket.
As reported on the AAA Gas Prices website, Manitowoc County’s average price per regular unleaded fuel has jumped 40 cents since this time last week to $2.92.
The last time Manitowoc County was over $2.90 was at the start of November, which was the final peak before an eight-week streak of steady drops.
This is also the third biggest single-week jump since we began recording gas prices in 2021. Manitowoc County saw a 66-cent leap between the first and second week of March in 2022, and a 59-cent jump at the start of June that same year.
Meanwhile, Sheboygan County’s average rose 39 cents over the past week to $2.93, while Calumet County reported a 43-cent jump to $2.95.
Outagamie County has the unfortunate distinction of having the biggest increase of 44 cents, which leaves their average price per gallon at $2.89, while Brown County motorists are paying 41 cents more with an average of $2.93.
Kewaunee County saw a 31-cent bump to $2.90, and Door County’s average is up 27 cents to $2.93.
The state average jumped 40 cents to $2.93, while the national average is up 23 cents to $3.20.
