The Random Lake boys basketball team was set to face off against Ozaukee in the opening round of the WIAA tournament, but that game will not be happening.
Multiple sources, including the Ozaukee Press, have reported that Random Lake has been forced to forfeit the contest by the WIAA.
By rule, teams are only allowed to play 24 regular-season games, but the Rams played 25.
It has not been confirmed how this happened, but the school self-reported the error, and the WIAA ruled that they must forfeit.
With the free pass, the Warriors advance to play Living Word Lutheran on Friday, while the Rams’ season comes to an anticlimactic end.
