Janet E. Kraemer, age 93, formerly of Newton, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Froedtert Holy Family Memorial Hospital.
Janet was born on January 07, 1933 in Eau Clair, WI, daughter of the late Albert and Hazel (Burns) Schmidt. On September 01, 1949, Janet married Marvin Kraemer. He preceded her in death December 28, 2007. Janet and her husband Marv owned Marv’s Auto Service and Southside Auto for many years. She was a certified nursing assistant at Holy Family Hospital. She enjoyed crocheting, playing Bingo, Kings Corners, and visiting with people. Janet loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
She is survived by two sons: James (Karen) Kraemer, Newton, William “Bill” (Cyndi) Kraemer, Newton; three daughters: Bonnie (Michael) Wallander, Newton, Margaret “Peggy” (Jeff) Jeske, Manitowoc, Kathleen Kraemer, Manitowoc; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Carole Weigert, Manitowoc, Janice (Eugene) Hartmann, Manitowoc; special friend: Janice Streckert; other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Albert and Hazel Schmidt; husband: Marvin Kraemer; infant daughter: Sharon Kraemer; brother and sister-in-law: Eugene (Rita) Schmidt; brother-in-law: Ronald Weigert.
A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 6, 2026 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 8100 Brunner Road, Newton. Rev. Dave Beaudry will be Celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.
