A Two Rivers man facing child sexual assault charges now has a lawyer.
Court documents show that 27-year-old Andrew J. Mueller was originally set for his preliminary hearing in Manitowoc County court last week, however, that hearing was delayed by Judge Robert Dewayne as he was still without legal representation.
This comes as Mueller faces two felony counts of Second-Degree Sexual Assault of a Child, linked to two offenses that occurred in November and December of last year.
Court records also show that the victim of these alleged offenses was just 13 years old at the time of each incident.
In the time since his delayed hearing last week, the 27-year-old has been appointed a lawyer through the Public Defender Program with attorney Nathan Heim representing him.
With counsel now in place, Mueller’s case is once again ready to make its way through the legal system, and he will next be in court for his rescheduled preliminary hearing on Thursday (March 5th) at 10:30 a.m. in Branch 3.
Until then, he remains in custody at the Manitowoc County Jail on $5,000 cash bail.
