A Manitowoc woman has been arrested after allegedly beating her child.
Manitowoc Police were called to the 600 block of Chicago Street at around 2:45 Sunday morning on a report of disorderly conduct.
The caller told dispatch that a 37-year-old woman was intoxicated and started beating her child.
The suspect, who does not live at the residence in question, denied that any physical altercation occurred, however one of the people who lives at the residence told a different story.
They admitted to having several friends over for an underage party, which is when the suspect arrived.
She reportedly began yelling at everyone, and her child brought her out to an enclosed patio where they tried to calm her down.
The witness told police that is when they heard the victim yell, “Stop hitting me,” but admitted that she hadn’t seen the altercation.
The victim corroborated the story, adding that their mother pushed and slapped them.
The suspect was arrested on charges of Physical Abuse of a Child and Disorderly Conduct.
