A local American Legion is reminding those who want to remember a family member in service to sign up for a veteran banner.
American Legion Post 477 of St. Nazianz announced that they will fly 45 banners honoring deceased Veterans on Memorial Day and 45 banners honoring still-living Veterans on Veterans Day.
Current, retired, or honorably discharged members of the United States Armed Forces who reside in St. Nazianz or the surrounding area, have resided in the area, are now deceased, or are an immediate family member of a resident of the village.
Banners will cost $75 this year, or 2025 banners can be sponsored for $25 each.
The $25 fee helps offset the cost of the lift rental and replacement straps for the brackets.
Updated banner applications are available at Meat’s Opera Haus, the Family Pantry, and Shadows in School Hill.
Applications can also be found at the Cenex and Overtime Sports Bar and Grill in Valders.
The deadline to submit an application is April 1st. More information can be found at the American Legion Post 477 St. Nazianz Facebook page.
