An actor with roots in Manitowoc County will be featured in a new movie this spring.
Bernie Starzewski plays a farmer who is dying from cancer in Winter Hymns, which will be showcased at the Wisconsin Film Festival in April.
Director and Tomah native Nathan Deming tells Seehafer was.com that the film “Over the course of one day in a single hospital room, a palliative care doctor (Colleen Madden) is drawn into escalating conflicts as patients and their families wrestle with the end of life.”
This will be Bernie’s seventh film, with his first credited role being an extra in Popper Baxton’s Sickly Stew in 2016.
Since then, he has appeared in three short films, along with Stalked by Shadows and Bigfoot Kills: A True Crime Documentary.
The Wisconsin Film Festival will open on April 9th at UW-Madison. More details can be found at WIFilmFest.org.
