A Virginia man charged with helping transport 25 pounds of methamphetamine into Manitowoc County has entered his plea.
29-year-old Corven M. Jones entered a plea of not guilty during his latest appearance in Manitowoc County Court yesterday (February 26th).
His attorney, Brian Van Ellis, also said Jones would not be asserting his right to a substitution of judge in the case.
He’ll return on April 28th for a scheduling conference.
Jones, Karron Hamilton, and Andre Allen were arrested in Manitowoc in December last year after law enforcement determined that all three were traveling to the City of Manitowoc for the purpose of delivering a large amount of meth.
The estimated street value of the drug was around $250,000. Since their initial appearance, Hamilton and Allen’s cases have been dismissed at the circuit court level and will now be prosecuted at the federal level.
Whether that will happen in Jones’ case is unknown at this time.
