
The Manitowoc Lincoln boys’ basketball team closed out the regular season last night when they welcomed in Bay Port.
On senior night, the Ships were taken down by the Pirates 52-26.
From the opening tip, this game was all Bay Port, who opened up the game with a nine-point lead thanks to three consecutive made triples.
Points were hard to come by all night for Lincoln, who found themselves trailing 24-10 at the break.
Bay Port would come out firing once again in the second, knocking down six more threes in the second.
While looking better in the second period, the Ships were stymied by the Pirates’ defense from whistle to whistle.
On Senior night, Lincoln honored their six seniors, Micah Kubsch, Cade Grapentine, Bennett Johnson, Sawyer Hartman, Brett Danielson, and Jack Bauer, but were unable to come away victorious.
Kubsch paced Manitowoc Lincoln with 10 points on the night.
With the loss, the Ships finish their regular season at 9-15, 5-13 in the FRCC.
Up next for them will be Division One, round one matchup with Oconomowoc on Tuesday.
