A major expansion in Sheboygan is set to bring numerous new jobs to the area.
Carl Buddig and Company is planning to invest $125 million into the expansion of its Old Wisconsin facilities in the county, and hopes to create 75 new jobs through the meat snack group.
The company recently acquired a large facility in the area and plans to renovate and equip it to accommodate advanced manufacturing processes for Old Wisconsin while expanding its production capacity by approximately 195,000 square feet.
This project has also gained support from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation as well, with them providing up to $2.75 million in performance-based state income tax credits, depending on the true amount of jobs created and the overall capital investment.
On this major investment in the Sheboygan area, John W. Miller, secretary and CEO of WEDC, said, “This expansion demonstrates Carl Buddig and Company’s commitment to the state of Wisconsin, our communities, and our workers. The Old Wisconsin brand reinforces Wisconsin’s reputation for quality food and beverages and our leadership in this important manufacturing sector.”
Carl Buddig and Company is a family-owned meat manufacturer that focuses on deli meats, meat snacks, and other ready-to-eat products, while Old Wisconsin production is based in Sheboygan and focuses on producing meat sticks and summer sausages.
