A man convicted in a 2020 stabbing in Green Bay has received a ruling on his appeal.
Andres Garcia-Saenz was found guilty on a charge of 1st Degree Intentional Homicide for the killing of Douglas Campbell, reportedly stabbing him hundreds of times.
FOX11 reports that he filed the paperwork for an appeal, citing his trial counsel’s performance on several items, however, the court determined that there are “no arguably meritorious issues for appeal” and that the counsel should withdraw the appeal.
Police were initially called to a home on Treager Street on March 17th, 2020, for a welfare check.
There, they found Campbell’s body with 222 stab wounds.
The investigation led to Garcia-Saenz, who was found to be in possession of Campbell’s clothing, credit cards, ID, and more, but he denied any involvement in the murder.
