The City of Two Rivers is looking to update its IT department.
City Manager Kyle Kordell explained a proposal during Monday’s (February 23rd) work session, recommending a modern hybrid IT service model in partnership with All In Technology, based in Green Bay.
Kordell said it would strengthen cybersecurity, improve resiliency, and provide 24/7 engineering depth after 25 years under a traditional IT structure.
He says the city received 12 responses for a Rate For Proposal, but All in Technology submitted the best bid.
The company will also help the city by not having it rely solely on in-house staff to fix a major problem that could occur, such as a hack.
He also says the proposal is a three-year contract with a rate that doesn’t change for the city.
Kordell also says the new group would save the city about $50,000 a year.
Some council members had questions about improving audio quality at council meetings for online viewers and whether the city’s in-house IT department is okay with the proposal.
They also asked about whether employees from All in Technology could come to the city hall if needed.
The council did not vote on the proposal, but will on March 2nd, during their first city council meeting of the month.
