The City of Two Rivers has approved its 2026 capital borrowing projects.
They include replacing vehicles, repairing sidewalks, and adding some new equipment.
The biggest borrowing Two Rivers will replace a 1994 pumper truck since their current one has exceeded its service life by 15 years.
There will also be some borrowing for improvements at the Neshotah Beach Concession Stand, which includes about $255,000 in total, with $131,000 coming from property taxes.
City Manager Kyle Kordell says the upgrades ensure the long-term operations of the heavily used beach restrooms and allow the city to meet peak demand.
Almost $453,000 will go toward resurfacing 18th and 19th Street from Jackson to Emmet Streets. Other projects include concrete replacement at two crosswalks, four bridge inspections, and new cameras for Two Rivers Police squad cars.
Kordell explains that investing in infrastructure is “more than just maintenance of things we own, it is an investment in opportunity. For Two Rivers, it is about creating momentum. We’re not just fixing what’s broken but strengthening the foundation so our community can grow with confidence for decades to come.”
