
No one was injured after a fire in New Holstein.
The New Holstein Fire Department was called to a home in the 2200 block of Prospect Street yesterday (February 22nd) just after 11:20 a.m. for a report of a fire in a fireplace that had spread outside of its confines.
Upon arrival, fire crews made entry to the residence and found that the fire had spread to the floor beneath the fireplace in the basement.
The fire was immediately put out, and crews began overhaul operations to eliminate the spread.
Fire personnel remained on scene for several hours to watch for hotspots.
The fire and related damage was contained to the area of the fireplace.
While no one was injured, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
An estimate of damage was also not provided by the New Holstein Fire Department.
