
Eastern Wisconsin will be well represented in Madison this week for the WIAA State Wrestling Tournament.
The lone Manitowoc Lincoln wrestler to qualify was Emjay Neumann, who will be going for her 3rd state title in four years.
Her only loss in Madison came at the hands of Angie Bianchi of Two Rivers, who will be going for her fourth consecutive state championship.
Neumann will be competing in the 114-pound weight class while Bianchi is in the 120-pound class.
ellow Riders to qualify were Derek Klinkner at 165 pounds and Max Mathias at 215 pounds. Mishicot High School will be represented by three lowerclassmen, namely freshman Jack Kaczrowski and sophomores Parker Tulachka and Debra Kuss, while Valders is sending sophomore Kolten Schisel.
Two wrestlers from Kiel are also destined for the Kohl Center. Junior classmates Logan Schad and Brady Kienbaum are making the trip, as is Reedsville’s Tristen Verbeten.
There are three athletes representing the Chilton/Hilbert co-op, namely Ayden Daul, Drayk Nolan, and Gabriel Brittnacher, while Brillion had six wrestlers qualify.
They are Parker Spierings, Jace Nicklaus, Colton Klug, Weston Schmidt, Brinley Miller, and Sevanna Hoyer.
Representing Kewaunee will be Samuel Kraynik, Trevor Gauthier, Mitchell Boeder, and Arianna Niemojuski. Denmark is sending three wrestlers, namely Cullen Zellner, Rhett Welsing, and Dominic Swetlik, while Sheboygan South’s lone qualifier was Ellianna Robinson.
Plymouth has three qualifiers in Connor Kruse, Landen Fick, and Sawyer Dailey, and Elkhart Lake/Glenbeulah is sending Carter McCall and Carson Stevens to the state tournament.
The event will begin on Thursday.
