
The WIAA has released the brackets for the boys’ basketball tournament, which begins on Tuesday, March 3rd.
In Division One Regionals, Manitowoc Lincoln will open at home against Oconomowoc on March 3rd, with the winner traveling to top-seed De Pere on Friday, March 6th. The only other Division One game of area interest on March 3rd has Hortonville hosting Appleton East. All other schools open play on March 6th.
In Division Four opening round regionals, Valders travels to Fond Du Lac to battle St. Mary’s Springs. The winner plays at the top seed, Howards Grove, on March 6th.
Mishicot visits Koher, and the winner will play at Winnebago Lutheran Academy in Fond Du Lac on March 6th. New Holstein heads to Omro with Manitowoc Lutheran, a two-seed, hosting the winner on March 6th.
Random Lake is in Ozaukee, and Southern Door visits Algoma with St. Mary Catholic awaiting the winner on March 6th. Roncalli, a three-seed, and Kewaunee, a one-seed, along with second-seeded Cedar Grove/Belgium, all drew first-round byes and will host regional semifinal games on March 6th.
In Division Five, Reedsville has a number one seed and will host Gillett on Tuesday, March 3rd.
Other Division Five opening-round regional games on March 3rd include Sheboygan Lutheran hosting Hustisford, Sheboygan Christian hosting Catholic Central of Burlington, Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah entertaining Wausaukee, Hilbert hosting Sevastopol, Green Bay NEW Lutheran hosting St. Thomas Aquinas of Milwaukee, Providence Academy of Green Bay hosting Lena, and Gibraltar traveling to Suring.
In Division Three on March 3rd, Two Rivers travels to Ripon with the winner to play top seed Brillion on March 6th, Kiel hosts Sheboygan Falls, Chilton plays at Winneconne, Denmark entertains Clintonville, Sturgeon Bay visits Menominee Nation, and Wrightstown will make a long road trip to Eagle River to battle Northland Pines.
Oostburg has a number one seed and will play its first game on Friday, March 6th.
In Division Two, Sheboygan South hosts Pulaski, Ashwaubenon travels to Green Bay East, Green Bay Southwest ventures to Marinette, and Green Bay West opens at Luxemburg-Casco.
Plymouth, West De Pere, and Notre Dame Academy of Green Bay all have first-round byes and open tournament play on March 6th.
All games tip off next Tuesday night at 7 p.m. unless otherwise indicated by the WIAA.
