The Manitowoc Noon Rotary has announced their 2025 Police Officer, Firefighter, and Citizens of the Year.
Officer Jacob Shillcox was named the Police Officer of the year due to his professionalism, communication and public relations skills, and his work with the Lighthouse Recovery Community Center and the Boys & Girls Club of Manitowoc County.
The Firefighter of the Year is Firefighter/Paramedic Benjamin Molnar.
He was recognized for “His commitment to learning and his continual drive to become the best Firefighter/Paramedic possible,” and his natural leadership skills.
The Fire Department’s Citizen of the Year honor was bestowed upon Keli McKay.
She was honored for her quick thinking and willingness to help when a man crashed his motorcycle into her yard in September.
Not only did she call for help, but Keli applied a tourniquet to his leg, likely saving his life.
The Police Department’s Citizens of the Year are Vicente and Savannah Lora.
They played a vital role in the arrest of an intoxicated driver, chasing him down as he attempted to flee.
You can learn more about all four recipients by visiting the Manitowoc Fire/Rescue Department and Manitowoc Police Department Facebook pages.
