The Sheboygan County Human Trafficking Task Force is seeking donations.
Last year, the Task Force held its first annual Sheboygan County Sensitive Crimes Symposium, and is now planning for the second this year.
However, donations are required to make this one more impactful than the first.
When describing what the event aims to do, the Task Force stated, “This event was put together to help victim service providers review best practices and increase institutional knowledge among the professionals in our community.”
At this time, the Symposium Planning Committee is in the process of taking in donations that will support the event and help facilitate guest speakers and expand on the first-ever event.
Of the many topics covered at the first Symposium, the main focus involved education on sexual assault, sex trafficking, and domestic abuse.
The inaugural event welcomed over 100 individuals and was held on the Lakeland University campus.
Those looking to donate to the 2nd annual Sensitive Crimes Symposium can do so online via the Task Force’s donation site through United Way, noting the donation is to be put towards the Symposium.
