Manitowoc Public Utilities is working on creating a new way to showcase outages in the system.
MPU explains that they are embarking on a strategic outcome to implement an Outage Management System, which will provide residents with an enhanced experience through improved reporting and communication.
The public utility explains that while they never want outages to happen, the outage system will at least allow customers to view an outage with estimated restoration times and multiple outlets to report outages.
MPU also noted that the outage system will improve staff dispatching and communication with the office staff.
The Outage Management System is expected to be implemented by the end of the year.
Other utility companies, like Wisconsin Public Service and WE Energies, have outage maps available for customers to check whether they might be experiencing a power outage.
