The latest high school basketball polls are in, and numerous local teams made the cut.
Girls Basketball
The Manitowoc Lutheran Lancers jump from ninth to seventh in this week’s Division Four MaxPreps girls high school basketball rankings.
Their final game of the regular season is tomorrow night (February 19th) as they travel to Hilbert to battle the Wolves as part of a girls-boys doubleheader. Coverage on 980 WCUB and CubRadio.com begins at 5:30 Thursday night.
Big East North Division champion St. Mary Catholic is ranked fourth, Howards Grove is 17th, and Kewaunee checks in at number 23.
Sheboygan Lutheran is sixth in Division Five, Valley Christian and Lourdes Academy, both of Oshkosh, are 18th and 19th, respectively, and Sheboygan Christian is at number 24.
Undefeated Oostburg remains atop Division Three, Northeast Wisconsin Conference Champion Denmark is ranked 15th, Kiel is 23rd, Little Chute is 24th, and North Fond Du Lac is 25th. Fox Valley Lutheran of Appleton is ranked fifth in Division Two, with West De Pere 14th.
In Division One, Kimberly, Appleton North, and Notre Dame Academy of Green Bay are ranked fifth through seventh, respectively. De Pere rounds out the top ten with Bay Port ranked 12th, Neenah is 14th, and Appleton North checks in at number 21.
Boys Basketball
Despite losing to Howards Grove last week, the Reedsville Panthers remain number one in this week’s Division Five Max Preps Boys High School basketball poll.
The Panthers, if anything, are being tournament tested down the stretch with games at home with St. Mary Catholic and Manitowoc Lutheran to conclude conference play, as the Zephyrs will visit the Panthers’ den on Friday night.
Sheboygan Lutheran is ranked fourth, Elkhart Lake/ Glenbeulah is 20th, and Hilbert debuts at number 25.
The hottest team in Manitowoc County is Manitowoc Lutheran.
The Lancers, under Head Coach Scott Loberger, have won four straight and 14 of their last 15 games.
They take a 16-4 record to Hilbert Thursday night to battle the Wolves who debut at number 25 in Division Five.
In fact, the Lancers finish the regular season playing four ranked teams (Hilbert, Kohler, Roncalli, and Reedsville).

Undefeated Kewaunee (21 and 0) remains number one. St. Mary Catholic is eighth, Howards Grove is 11th, Roncalli is ranked 12th, Algoma is 16th, Winnebago Lutheran Academy of Fond Du Lac is 19th, and the Kohler Blue Bombers check in at number 21.
Seymour slips to second in Division Three as Racine Lutheran assumes the top spot this week, Freedom is ranked third, with Oostburg sixth, Xavier of Appleton 10th, and the Brillion Lions come on at number 13.
West De Pere is ninth in Division Two, Notre Dame Academy of Green Bay is 13th, and the Plymouth Panthers are ranked 17th.
In Division One, De Pere, Appleton North, and Kaukauna are ranked fourth through sixth, respectively. Bayport is 14th, Sheboygan North is 19th, Neenah is 21st, Oshkosh North is 24t,h and Kimberly comes in at number 25.
