Residents in Fond du Lac are being advised to lock their doors after a series of home invasions yesterday.
The Fond du Lac Police Department was first called to investigate when a resident in the 1600 block of Primrose Lane reported that an unknown man was in their living room just after 2:00 a.m.
The man had allegedly entered through an unlocked patio door and was believed to be wearing a hoodie and a face covering.
He fled when confronted, and despite assistance from a drone team and police K9s, investigators were unable to locate him.
Police then went door to door, canvasing the immediate and surrounding neighborhoods, which is when they learned of two additional home entries, after several attempts.
The suspect has still not been located, so police are asking the public to look at their home security cameras for any evidence.
Police Chief Aaron Goldstein addressed the city, saying, “We take this very seriously. An unlawful entry into an occupied residence is something we respond to with urgency and care. We also understand the concern this may cause, and we are here for our community. Please remain alert, check on your neighbors, and report anything suspicious. We are committed to doing everything we can to ensure our neighborhoods remain safe.”
Anyone with any information on the case is encouraged to contact Detective Matt Chevremont at 920-322-3744 or the Crime Alert line at 920-322-3740.
