The family of a woman killed in a camper fire in Fond du Lac is looking to support the children left behind.
A woman only referred to as Nichole died from injuries sustained when her camper caught fire at the Breezy Hill Campground on Sunday morning.
A GoFundMe has been started for her children, Donald, Casper, and Ariel, who lost not only their mother but also all of their possessions.
Their great aunt started the fundraising effort, and she noted that, on top of processing their grief, the children will have to endure a custody battle.
Their grandmother has agreed to raise them, but their father, who their great aunt claims is a registered sex offender, is also fighting for custody.
The money raised will go towards the legal fees, costs associated with housing, and the funeral expenses for Nichole.
Sherri pleaded with the community, “Any help to keep these kids together and safe, and to give their mother a proper farewell, will go a long ways. They are all special, and your support will make a real difference in their lives.”
