A local mother says she wants justice after the death of her daughter.
Nicole Strack tells SeehaferNews.com that the Two Rivers Police Department is not allowing her to see documents from her daughter’s death case from 2023.
Streck says Destiny Koch-Hostettler lost her life by hanging with fentanyl found in her system; however, there were multiple people at the home she was found in on the night she was found.
She stated that she would have been okay with the explanation, but claims that the evidence proves otherwise.
“The things that have occurred in between and the night before make me question it,” she explained. “I have tried numerous times to get records so I can look at it.”
She then stated that to her, the case was mishandled.
“They didn’t get adequate records,” she claimed. “I came forward with information; they didn’t do follow-ups. And we have emails to prove that.”
Strack now says she saw that Destiny’s passing was due to asphyxiation, which she believes means that her daughter could have been placed in a noose by someone because they thought she was dead, and that she didn’t do it herself.
She has since tried to go to TRPD’s office to see documents, but she again claims that they aren’t letting her see them.
She has been able to get some records from Two Rivers Police, but they’ve either been heavily redacted or are not useful.
Strack tells us she wants to make sure nothing like this ever happens to anyone again.
She stated, “If it is questionable that there is other things to it, it needs to be completely looked at, not just shut down just because of mental health, or addiction, or homelessness.”
Strack and other supporters met in front of Two Rivers City Hall yesterday (February 15th) to walk around with signs saying, “Justice for Destiny” and “Stop mishandling victims’ cases.”
We’ve reached out to Two Rivers Police for comment, and they say they have none at this time.
