A 53-year-old Oshkosh man is facing charges after he was found to have child pornography on his laptop.
The Oshkosh Police Department opened up an investigation into the man, whose name was not provided, after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Oshkosh Police Detectives and Investigators with the Vice and Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant on a residence in the 1100 block of Moreland Street, where they found three videos depicting the sexual assault of children.
However, the man admitted that there would “probably be more than one thousand images and videos of child pornography on the laptop.”
Investigators are now asking the WI Dept. of Justice – Division of Criminal Investigation – Digital Evidence Unit to take a look at the laptop to find the rest of the child sexual assault material.
So far, the man has been charged with three counts of Possession of Child Pornography.
Anyone with any information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact the Oshkosh Police Department at 920-236-5700 or use the P3 Tips app.
