
A fugitive wanted on numerous felony warrants has been arrested.
Deputies with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office witnessed the unnamed fugitive, who was known to be armed and dangerous, enter a vehicle in the City of Fond du Lac on Wednesday (February 11th).
Deputies initiated a traffic stop; however, the suspect fled at a high rate of speed.
Deputies from the Washington and Dodge County Sheriff’s Offices came to assist in the pursuit, deploying tire deflation devices, which the suspect hit twice during the 34-mile chase.
The pursuit would come to an end when the suspect vehicle entered the gore area at Interstate 41 and Highway 60 in Washington County, initiating a high-risk traffic stop.
During the stop, both the driver and the vehicle’s lone passenger were taken into custody.
During a search of the vehicle and continued investigation, authorities would locate two firearms, nearly half a pound of crack cocaine, and more than four ounces of fentanyl.
The driver was on active supervision with the Department of Corrections and was booked into the Fond du Lac County Jail on multiple felony charges, while the passenger was also booked on numerous felonies.
At this time, the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office says that no injuries were reported as a result of the chase, and the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
