The Reedsville Panthers girls’ basketball team hits the road tonight in search of a seventh straight win as they travel to Howards Grove to battle the Tigers in a Big East North Division battle.
It’s been a long climb back to .500 for the Panthers as they began the season losing 10 of their first 14 games, including seven in a row.
The Panther “D” has stepped up, allowing only 35 points per game during this winning streak, and seniors Kourtney Dvorachek and Mercedes Grimm, both 1,000 career point scorers, have led an offense that’s doing just enough to keep the opposition at bay.
Sophomore Brooklin Taddy has also chipped in 10-and-a-half-points per game. Howards Grove comes in with a record of 12 and 6, having split their last six games, which include losses to Manitowoc Lutheran and St. Mary Catholic.
The Tigers won the first meeting in Reedsville on January 6th.
The tip-off is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
Other girls’ games have Mishicot looking to get back above .500 as they travel to Hilbert, 17 and 3 Kohler visits undefeated Oostburg, Sheboygan Christian is at Random Lake, and St. Mary Catholic can clinch the outright Big East North Division title with a victory over the visiting Resorters of Elkhart Lake/ Glenbeulah.
