
Eastern Wisconsin is well represented on this week’s high school basketball rankings.
The Reedsville Panthers remain number one in the latest boys Division Five High School Max Preps Basketball Poll. The 18-1 Panthers will be tested with their next three and four of their final five opponents ranked in the top 25, beginning with a road test at Howards Grove Friday night.
Other area schools that are ranked in D-5 include Sheboygan Lutheran at number three, and Elkhart Lake/Glenbeulah is ranked 16th.
The undefeated Kewaunee Storm sit atop the Division Four rankings with St. Mary Catholic, Manitowoc Lutheran, Cedar Grove/ Belgium, Howards Grove, and Roncalli ranked ninth through 13th, respectively, while Algoma is 17th, and Kohler comes in at number 19.
In Division Three, Freedom is ranked third with Oostburg 6th and Brillion 7th. West De Pere is 11th in Division Two, with Notre Dame Academy of Green Bay ranked 13th, and Plymouth is 19th.
In Division One, Appleton North is ranked 4th, De Pere is fifth, Kaukauna is 7th, Sheboygan North is 15th, Bayport is 18th, and the Neenah Rockets are ranked 19th.
Meanwhile, the Manitowoc Lutheran Lancers check in at number nine in this week’s girls Division Four Max Preps High School basketball poll. The 18-4 Lancers have won four straight, including an impressive 71-50 victory at Kiel Monday night, snapping the Raiders’ 11-game winning streak. They’ll return to action next Tuesday when they travel to Reedsville to battle the Panthers.
St. Mary Catholic checks in at number two behind top-ranked Regis of Eau Claire. Kohler is 11th, Howards Grove is 17th, and Kewaunee is ranked 23rd.
Sheboygan Lutheran is ranked 5th in Division Five, Valley Christian and Lourdes Academy, both of Oshkosh, are ranked 18th and 19th respectively, and Sheboygan Christian checks in at number 22.
Oostburg remains atop the Division Three rankings. Denmark is 14th, Kiel is 16th, and Little Chute is 24th.
Xavier and Fox Valley Lutheran, both from Appleton, are ranked 7th and 8th respectively in Division Two, with West De Pere 14th.
Kimberly is fifth in Division One, Appleton East is sixth, Notre Dame Academy of Green Bay is 7th, De Pere is ranked ninth, Bay Port is 12th, Neenah is 14th, Hortonville is 15th, and Appleton North checks in at number 20.
