The City of Two Rivers was recognized on national TV for being the home of the Ice Cream Sundae.
Good Morning America on ABC shared a segment called “Wisconsin in 90 seconds,” discussing Wisconsin’s history of motorcycle manufacturing, cheese-making, and being the home state for Lavern and Shirley.
But one of the first things they mentioned about Wisconsin was the fact that “the first ice cream sundae was scooped in Two Rivers in 1881.”
Explore Two Rivers then promoted the Washington House Museum and Visitor’s Center, home to Berner’s Ice Cream Parlor, where the ice cream treat was first made.
The Washington House is closed for the season but will reopen on May 23rd.
