The man in charge of the Green Bay Metro Fire Department has stepped down from his position.
Fire Chief Matthew Knott says the decision was made after careful thought and reflection, with the Department calling it a “personal decision…to prioritize what is best for his family.”
Chief Knott thanked the “Greater Green Bay Community for the kindness, support, and sense of belonging he has felt over the past three years.”
Mayor Eric Genrich thanked Chief Knott for his “service and positive contributions during his tenure,” specifically pointing to the work he did to secure a $5 million grant to support the construction of a new fire station.
