A metals processor in Cleveland caught fire over the weekend.
The Cleveland Fire Department, with mutual aid from the Newton Fire Department, was called to B&B Metals Processing on a report of heavy black smoke coming from a building on the property just before 9:00 Saturday evening (February 7th).
Firefighters quickly deployed an ultra-high-pressure handline to the 80’ by 400’ building and a payloader parked nearby.
The fire was contained to a small section of the building, but there was heat damage throughout.
B&B employees worked with the fire crews to remove smoldering material to ensure it was all fully extinguished.
Assistant Fire Chief Dan Bruckschen noted that the building itself sustained minimal damage and that the cause is unknown at this time.
The Cleveland Fire Department thanked the Newton Fire Department, Cleveland EMS, the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Department, the employees at B&B, and Manitowoc County Dispatch for their help in the incident.
