Orange Cross Ambulance out of Sheboygan County has awarded its annual scholarship.
Orange Cross has announced that the 2026 George Sippel Memorial EMS Scholarship has been awarded to Madeline Brashaw of Sheboygan.
Brashaw is currently enrolled in the EMT program at Lakeshore College and is set to graduate later this spring.
With hopes of becoming a physician in her future, Brashaw said, “Working as an EMT will allow me to develop strong and essential clinical skills, learn how to communicate effectively with patients and team members, and learn to make decisions under pressure.”
While adding, “The main reason that I want to become an EMT, and eventually a physician, is that I value helping people during moments when they most need someone.”
With the scholarship, Orange Cross has awarded Brashaw with $1,000 to aid her in her EMS journey.
The EMS Scholarship is in honor of George Sippel, a former volunteer EMT and firefighter in Plymouth who dedicated his life to serving others, and was set up by his wife, Cindy, to honor his legacy.
