Green Bay’s international airport is getting federal funding.
Austin Straubel is getting a $4 million federal grant to support critical taxiway upgrades and other airfield rehabilitation projects that enhance safety, efficiency, and long-term operational reliability.
The investment will be used to improve airfield infrastructure and ensure Austin Straubel continues to meet federal safety standards while supporting current and future air service.
Airport Director Marty Piette said of the funding, “These taxiway and rehabilitation projects strengthen the foundation of our airfield operations and make GRB even stronger.”
The federal funding was secured by U.S. Representative Tony Wied, along with multiple community funding projects for northeastern Wisconsin by U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin.
Green Bay County Executive Troy Streckenbach said federal investment plays a vital role in Brown County’s economy and connectivity.
