Pet rescue groups in the Sheboygan area are searching for a potentially stolen or rehomed dog.
Sheboygan’s Lost Paws and Tails and Jeff’s Way Home Lost Dog Search and Rescue have both said that two German Shepards were reported missing on January 18th between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
The two dogs, RC and Aleu, were missing from the area of Maryland Avenue and South 17th Street and were captured together in the area by a Ring doorbell camera.
After that, the dogs were later seen heading toward New Jersey Avenue in the city.
RC was later found on New Jersey Avenue in front of the DPW building and safely returned to his family by a good Samaritan.
However, when RC was located, his brother Aleu was nowhere to be found and has not been seen since.
With the dogs being seen together on multiple occasions and their owners stating it is highly unlikely that they would separate from one another, they and area pet rescue groups believe that Aleu was stolen or found and re-homed.
To that point, Sheboygan’s Lost Paws and Tails said, “We are very familiar with how lost dogs travel and based on additional info we have…we did not come to the possibly stolen conclusion lightly.”
While an individual working with Jeff’s Way Home spoke to an officer with the Sheboygan Police Department, who also believes Aleu was stolen.
Aleu is described as a 3-year-old black German Shepard.
Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts or security camera footage of the dogs from January 18th is urged to call Jeff’s Way Home at 920-889-7495.
