A suspect connected to a string of burglaries in Oshkosh has been arrested.
The Oshkosh Police Department has announced that a 35-year-old man, whose name was not released, was taken into custody on Wednesday on two counts each of Burglary and Felony Retail Theft and a single count of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
The man is believed to have been responsible for three separate incidents over a two-hour stretch.
He allegedly stole items from a store in the 2300 block of Westowne Avenue just before 10:00 Tuesday morning, before donning a mask and breaking into a different business in the 700 block of Nicolet Avenue 30 minutes later.
Then, just before noon on the same day, he went back to the 2300 block of Westowne Avenue, where he was seen on security camera footage forcing entry to the same business with a crowbar.
Detectives were able to identify the suspect and his vehicle, eventually locating the suspect the following day, in the Town of Grand Chute.
He was found in the parking lot of a business in the 3000 block of West Wisconsin Avenue just after 11:30 a.m., and he was taken into custody without further incident.
Oshkosh Police thanked local businesses for their cooperation in supplying security camera footage, saying, “This cooperation was pivotal, providing crucial evidence that significantly advanced our investigation. Together, this highlights the strength and unity of our community, reinforcing our collective commitment to safety and justice.”
