
There are several intriguing matchups on tonight’s local basketball schedule.
After Manitowoc Lutheran and Howards Grove battled in girls’ basketball on Thursday night, the boys’ teams of those two same schools square off at the Grove with a lot riding on the line.
The Lancers and Tigers need a victory to keep pace with Reedsville in the Big East North Division race.
Manitowoc Lutheran sits 6-2 in the league, a game behind the Panthers, and looks to start a new winning streak after having a ten-game streak snapped by St. Mary Catholic Tuesday night.
Howards Grove is 5-3 in the Big East North and looks for a season series sweep of the Lancers after posting a win at Lancer Circle back in December.

Manitowoc Lincoln looks for a second consecutive victory as they head up I-43 to battle Notre Dame Academy of Green Bay.
The Ships are coming off an impressive 65-38 win over Green Bay Southwest Tuesday night, while the Tritons look to keep their FRCC title hopes alive. They are in second place at 10-2, a game and a half behind league-leading De Pere.

Other boys’ games include Mishicot hosting St. Mary Catholic, Brillion has a non-conference game at Crivitz, undefeated Kewaunee heads to Oconto, Denmark is home for Luxemburg Casco, New Holstein is home for Chilton, Hilbert hosts Elkhart Lake/ Glenbeulah, Ozaukee is at Oostburg, Sheboygan Christian goes crosstown to battle Sheboygan Lutheran, Sheboygan North is at West De Pere, FRCC leading De Pere plays at Bay Port, Pulaski plays at Ashwaubenon, Green Bay West hosts Menasha, Cedar Grove Belgium travels to Mayville, Algoma heads north to Sevastopol, Southern Door hosts Sturgeon Bay and Wrightstown entertains the Little Chute Mustangs.
As for the girls, the Denmark Vikings look to move a step closer to the Northeast Conference title tonight with a victory on the road against the Luxemburg-Casco Spartans.
The Vikings lead the Spartans by two games with four conference games left, meaning they can at best tie for the title with a victory tonight.
Other girls’ games have Manitowoc Lincoln hosting Notre Dame Academy of Green Bay, Sheboygan North hosting West De Pere, Green Bay Preble entertaining Menasha, Gresham traveling to Green Bay NEW Lutheran, Ashwaubenon traveling to Pulaski, and Peshtigo traveling to Sturgeon Bay to battle the Clippers.
Meanwhile, the Big East and EWC will crown team and individual champions at their respective conference meets tonight.
The EWC Boys and Girls’ meet will be at Brillon, while the Big East boys’ and girls’ meets will be at Cedar Grove/Belgium.
