A golf professional at a local course has been given a major honor.
The Wisconsin Professional Golfers’ Association (WPGA) has recently named the winners of their 2026 Special Awards.
Headlining this year’s honorees is Dan Hastreiter, the PGA Assistant General Manager and Head Professional at Blackwolf Run in Kohler, who has been named as the state’s Golf Professional of the Year.
At Blackwolf Run, Hastreiter is responsible for the golf operations team as well as managing all aspects of the course’s golf operation.
Upon this recognition, Hastreiter said, “This award is the result of many positive influences, role models, and mentors that I have been fortunate to have over the course of my career. It is an honor to be the recipient of this year’s award, and I hope to be able to serve as a positive influence for the next generation of golf professionals.”
Aside from his work at Blackwolf Run, he has also served as the committee chair for the 2010 and 2015 PGA Championships, 2012 U.S. Women’s Open, and an Executive Vice Chair for the 43rd Ryder Cup.
This comes as Hastreiter’s second award from the WPGA, having been named the Assistant Professional of the Year in 2018.
