With a week and a half left in the regular season, the Manitowoc Lutheran girls basketball team seems to be getting back on track for a postseason run.
The Lancers dominated the cross-town rival Roncalli Jets 73-27 in a matchup at Lancer Circle last night.
The one-win Jets were not intimidated at the start of the matchup, as they held the Lancers for much of the first half and, at one point, kept the game tied at 15 apiece.
However, the Lancers turned it on and led by 17 and a half before securing the 46-point win.
Coach Mike Behnke’s Lancers shared the scoring responsibilities well, with Makiah Krause leading the team with 17 points, while Abby Behnke netted 12 and Eva Menzano added 10.
The jets were led by Madison Keller’s 11-point outing.
The Jets, still seeking that elusive second win, will have a tough test on Thursday, as they are slated to host the 13-7 Brillion Lions at the Hangar.
The Lancers, meanwhile, improved to 16-4 and will take a two-game win streak into Howards Grove on Thursday, where the Tigers also sit at 16-4.
