A woman facing charges of child neglect causing death has had her cash bail set.
Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney explains that a $500,000 cash bail was set by Judge Laura Lavey last Wednesday (January 28th) for 51-year-old Tina Beauprey.
She’ll make her initial appearance today (February 2nd) at 11:00 a.m. The criminal complaint will be available later today as well.
FOX11 reports that during Beauprey’s bail hearing, prosecutors said she didn’t feed her son, causing the 12-year-old’s death.
Police said an investigation began in December when they were called to SSM St. Agnes Hospital for a report of a deceased 12-year-old who was taken to the emergency department.
Prosecutors also claimed that when the boy’s health significantly worsened, Beauprey did not seek any medical care for him.
The 51-year-old’s lawyers argued that the boy had muscular dystrophy, a terminal illness, and it was expected that he would have lost weight.
