
There were no injuries reported in an Appleton house fire late last week.
The Appleton Fire Department was called to the 300 block of North Lawe Street at 10:30 last Friday morning on a report of a single-family home on fire.
Fire crews arrived to find the blaze in the basement of the structure, and the occupants already evacuated.
The fire was brought under control within 15 minutes, and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, but it was noted that it caused an estimated $175,000 in damage.
The Appleton Fire Department is encouraging renters to invest in renters’ insurance as it is A “cost-effective way to get re-established, should a fire occur.”
Appleton fire crews were assisted at the scene by the Grand Chute Fire Department, Appleton Police Department, Gold Cross Ambulance, and American Red Cross of Wisconsin.
