A fire in Appleton has caused significant damage.
The Appleton Fire Department was dispatched to a residence in the 700 block of East Brewster Street yesterday (January 29th) just after noon.
The initial call indicated that flames were visible and that residents were in the process of evacuating the structure.
Upon arrival, Appleton firefighters observed a single-family home with heavy smoke emanating from its roof.
Fire crews quickly made their way into the home to search the floors and found the flames.
They would then perform vertical ventilation, and the blaze was brought under control in less than 15 minutes.
All occupants of the home were able to escape, and no injuries were reported to civilians or fire personnel.
At this time, Appleton Fire crews are still working to determine the cause of the fire, and the estimated damage to the building and its contents is approximately $75,000.
In their announcement of the incident, the Appleton Fire Department thanked the Grand Chute Fire Department, the Appleton Police Department, and Gold Cross Ambulance for their assistance on the scene.
