The Roncalli girls’ basketball team looked for their second win of the season last night when they took on the Cedar Grove-Belgium Rockets.
In a game between two teams with a combined three wins, the Rockets took down the Jets 58-35.
Roncalli came out of the gates a bit slow and struggled to find their way into the game early on.
Once again, turnovers plagued the Jets girls, who struggled against the aggressive defense of the Rockets and trailed 39-17 at the break.
Roncalli certainly came out of halftime with more energy and would cut their turnovers in half in period two.
However, 22 points from Cedar Grove-Belgium senior Gracie Schmidt were too much to overcome.
The Jets were led offensively by sophomore Bailey Keller, who finished with a team-high 9 points.
With the loss, the Jets fall to 1-16 on the season while remaining 1-8 in the EWC after this nonconference matchup.
Up next for the Jets will be a trip to Valders on Friday night to take on the Vikings
