A GoFundMe campaign for the family of Alex Pretti has raised more than $1 million.
Pretti, a 37-year-old VA ICU nurse, was shot and killed over the weekend by a Border Patrol agent in Minneapolis.
Funds from the campaign are intended to support the immediate and long-term needs of his family.
Federal officials claim Pretti was carrying a gun and planned to use it against law enforcement.
However, video footage of the incident shows that his weapon was never unholstered until removed by an ICE agent just seconds before he was shot and killed while on his knees with his back turned to the agents.
Moments after his murder, U.S. officials labeled him a domestic terrorist while local law enforcement was denied access to the crime scene after obtaining a judicial search warrant for the crime scene.
Pretti was a Green Bay native, having graduated from Green Bay Preble High School in 2006.
