Manitowoc Lincoln will host a varsity basketball doubleheader this afternoon at the JFK.
The Ships Boys go first as they host Hamilton in a non-conference game.
The Ships fell to Bay Port Thursday night as they try to reach .500 (8 and 8) against the Chargers of the Greater Metro Conference, who were 4-9 going into Friday night’s home game with Wauwatosa West.
Meanwhile, the Ships girls are looking for a second conference win this week as they host a very talented Bay Port Pirate team.
Lincoln is 3-6 in the FRCC and 6-8 overall, defeating Green Bay Preble 49 to 39 Tuesday night behind 18 points from senior guard Sarah Bolchen and a stifling defense that limited the Hornets to 18 points in the second half.
Bay Port is right in the thick of the conference race as they are in third place at 6-2 and 13-4 overall.
The Pirates are led by senior Melia Lemorande, who averages better than 19 points per game, while sophomore Olivia Williams chips in better than 16 points per contest.
They also have an outstanding defense, limiting the opposition to just 41 points per game.
The Ships go for a season series split with The Pirates, and you’ll hear coverage of both games this afternoon on “WOMT 100” and womtradio.com beginning at 3:45 p.m.
