A large quantity of drugs was uncovered during a recent traffic stop in Winnebago County.
The traffic stop occurred just after midnight on January 10th; however, exactly where the incident occurred was not revealed by the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office continues to say that during the search of the suspect vehicle, deputies discovered heroin, cocaine, and 199 grams, or nearly half a pound, of methamphetamine.
Other items seized included a digital scale, rolled-up bills consistent with the use of cocaine, and various other items of drug paraphernalia.
At this time, it is unclear how many arrests were made and what charges were handed out following the drug bust.
To close out their statement, the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office said, “This is what proactive policing looks like.
This is what commitment to community safety delivers.”
They also commend the work of the two deputies responsible for the operation.
