A former student teacher at Menasha High School is getting probation for exchanging topless photos with a student.
FOX11 reports 24-year-old Cameron Mueller entered into a deferred prosecution agreement on a charge of sexual misconduct by a school staff member.
He was convicted of fourth-degree sexual assault and given a year of probation.
A criminal complaint says a witness told police about Mueller and the 18-year-old victim who exchanged topless photos.
The person also said Mueller “grabbed and smacked the victim’s backside while at Menasha High School.”
The 24-year-old initially denied the allegation, saying he had set boundaries, but police later found the photos on his phone.
The student later confirmed that she sent the photos and that the two were physically involved on at least two occasions.
Mueller apologized in court yesterday (January 20th) during his hearing, saying he did what he did out of desperation and loneliness as he sought a relationship in an inappropriate setting.
