
A family dog is unaccounted for following a house fire in Oshkosh.
WBAY reports that the Oshkosh Fire Department was called to the 900 block of West 10th Avenue at approximately 6:45 p.m. on Sunday on a report of a structure fire.
Firefighters arrived on scene to discover a two-story home with heavy smoke and flames emanating from all sides of the house.
No residents were home at the time of the fire; however, the family’s dog was, and at this time is unaccounted for and presumed dead.
At this time, the cause of the fire remains undetermined and is under investigation.
The Oshkosh Fire Department does not yet have a dollar amount as to how much damage the blaze caused, but did state that there was significant flame and smoke damage to the home.
Other agencies responding to the scene included the Town of Oshkosh, Town of Algoma, and Fox Crossing Fire Departments, while Jeff’s on Rugby offered warm shelter to the fire crews as they rotated to fight the flames in near subzero temperatures.
