The City of Sheboygan is explaining why they want to update its zoning codes.
In a press release, city staff explained that the code update is an important step to ensure the community continues to grow and evolve in a thoughtful, responsible way.
City staff formally began working with planning and legal professionals in 2024, and in 2025, the City Plan Commission was presented with initial drafts during four separate public meetings.
During the meetings, feedback was generated from staff, the commission, and the public.
Suggestions made during the December 23rd meeting were noted on the Common Council’s January 5th meeting agenda, along with a public meeting notice to encourage more participation.
City of Sheboygan staff finish saying they remain committed to working collaboratively with residents and officials to ensure the zoning code reflects the community’s values and priorities.
To give feedback, the city provided a link to Sheboygan city officials.
